Better Together:

Protecting the biodiversity of our region is a big job, and we know we can’t do it alone. Fortunately, our region is blessed with an abundance of conservation organizations, both big and small. We work hard to understand the roles and personalities of each organization so that we can work with them in appropriate ways. We see helping other conservation organizations achieve their goals as beneficial to us, and we often provide technical knowledge and expertise to their campaigns.

Friends of Wolf Creek

Wolf Creek Pass is a high mountain pass on the Continental Divide, in the San Juan Mountains of Colorado. The pass connects two wilderness areas and is a hot spot for biodiversity. Friends of Wolf Creek works to protect the incredible natural resources of Wolf Creek Pass from the development of a 10,000 person “village” of hotels, condos, retail shops, and parking lots.

Climate Forests

We believe our mature and old growth forests should be safeguarded as a place where nature thrives. These national treasures should be managed to recover native wildlife, provide clean drinking water for our communities, and to capture carbon and aid in the fight against climate change.

The Coalition for Oil and Gas Reform

Recently finalized common-sense oil and gas reforms give taxpayers a fair return for the extraction of our public resources, protect wildlife and cultural resources, and ensure that oil and gas companies pay for cleaning up their messes. Now, these reforms are under attack from politicians seeking to boost corporate profits at taxpayers’ expense. We work to stop reckless attempts to roll back these critical reforms at the expense of the public and our shared public lands.
